IF I COULD DO ANYTHING AT ALL, I… would help mothers that have a high risk pregnancy to get them through such a hard road, but then if I could do anything maybe I would make it that no mother would have to lose a baby or child.
THE MEAL I COULD EAT REGULARLY… I love italian, so anything Italian
I FIND IT HARD TO… say sorry.
I USED TO WANT TO… own my own scrapping shop
I ALWAYS THOUGHT… That there was no bad luck
I REALLY REGRET… There is one thing that I regret, only one thing.
I WOULD TELL MY 15 YEAR OLD SELF… Gosh, omg so very much. That life is filled with ups and downs, and there is no happy ending. But the most important thing to be true to yourself and never settle. Because as long as you can do that, there will be no regrets.
TODAY I…. Got to scrap and loved it and talked to friends on the phone.
MY FAVOURITE QUOTE… Every breeze that you feel and see brings love and a kiss from me.
MY FAVOURITE THING ABOUT SCRAPBOOKING IS.... My photos, I love bringing them to life and telling the story

GUESS WHO HAS SAT ON OUR LOUNGE...???

We have had some quite interesting and "famous" creative souls on The Lounge in years gone by...!!!
Jodi ("goddessjodi") once ran a thread entitled...

I HAVE A CONFESSION....

....I am addicted to ATCs...!!!!

And just what IS an ATC I hear you ask...???
ATCs - or Artist Trading Cards - are small, 3.5"x 2.5" themed and numbered pieces of artwork traded between artists.
They can be created using any medium - paper, cloth, mixed media....anything goes really.
On the back you include your name, your email address or website addy, the group they are bing produced for, the theme and also the number, i.e. 1 of 5, 2 of 5, etc

I have quite a collection at home, stored in a folder in plastic sleeves that my boys used to keep their Pokemon and cricket cards in.
I quite often look through my folder, recalling the friends I have traded with and marvelling at how intricate and artistic some of my cards are.
I am currently waiting on 2 swaps to arrive back that I am - the themes are "Little Boy Blue" and "Witches" so two varied themes from the two groups.

I also enjoy swapping ATCs when I go to retreats - it helps me remember the people I was on retreat with and they allow me to take a small piece of that person's artistic talent home with me.

On The Lounge, we run a monthly ATC Club
There are only three people in each group (a very "do-able" number) and each month the theme changes.
Here are the first three months of ATCs from our ATC Club.

 - Row 1: Friendship

ATCs by Shazz (me), Natasha and Tracey
- Row 3: Summer
ATCs by Shazz (me), Kym and Storm

If you would like to join in, sign-up for each month starts on the first of the month and then you have until the 21st of the month to create your ATCs and post them to the people in your group.
So....will you be joining us in this fun and creative addiction...???

NEED A CARD FOR SOMEONE SPECIAL...???

Hello and welcome to a new area on The Lounge....
"CARD-SPIRATIONS"

Let's face it.....we all need to send cards.
Whether it be for a birthday, a wedding, the birth of a baby, the passing of a loved one, to thank someone for their kindness or just to say "Hello...I am thinking of you"

I also have a blog for "Heart Cards" which is where, when the need arises, I ask for paper crafters to donate cards for various appeals - we donated just on 1000 cards to communities affected by the Victorian bushfires in 2009; we also donated 1000 cards to those affected by the floods in Queensland and Victoria in 2011 and we are currently supplying thank you cards to Harrison's Little Wings charity to be handed to families grieving the loss of a child.

I, for one, struggle with the whole card making thing while other friends just seem to make the most gorgeous cards.

And then grab a coffee and head over to Ruthy's blog for some more eye candy.

So I came up with the idea of "Card-Spirations" for The Lounge.
A fortnightly inspiration/challenge to get us all scrapping cards to give away.

I am planning to create a few cards each fortnight to build up my stash of cards and hopefully to have enough to give a box of cards each, along with some postage stamps, to "The Mums" (my Mum, my step-Mum and Mark's Mum) for Mother's Day this year as a gift so they have cards on hand when they need them.

Our first Card-Spiration was posted last week by our lovely CT member, Crece.
She chose a sketch to get us all creating.....

RETREATS

Retreats are a part and parcel of scrapbooking and crafting these days.
Most stores and online forums will hold a retreat at some time in their "life".
Whether it be a dedicated scrapping retreat or a papercrafting retreat (emcompassing the areas of scrapbooking, cardmaking, mixed media, stampers), or even just a group of friends getting together for a weekend, retreats are, in one word.....FUN...!!!

This year, The Lounge is holding it's first ever retreat in May on the shores of the beautiful Lake Ainsworth in Lennox Head, in nthn NSW.
We still have a few places available for both the whole weekend and the Saturday day passes.
You can find all the information you need here if you are interested in coming along and sharing a weekend of fun, frivolity, creating, inspiration and friendship.

 

"Stick 'n' Giggle" are also holding a retreat this year.
Jody's retreats are always fun, well organised and this year's will be no different.
Jody is returning to the Shearwater at Caloundra.
You can find details here of how to show your interest in attending or to book your place.

"Fancy That Scrapbooking" are holding two retreats this year.
Their "no frills" retreat will be held in a few weeks but I believe the girls still have places left if you would like to go along.
The second retreat will be held in August and places are still available for this retreat also.

So....if you have never been to a retreat, please consider going along.
They are a great way to meet fellow crafters, learn new techniques and different ways to use products and I guarantee you will always come away smiling, with the email addresses and phone numbers of new friends and a whole wealth of new knowledge about the crafts we all love.

CREATIVE TEAM CALL

The Scrap Lounge is looking for THREE new creative team members to join our team.

As part of our Creative Team you will be expected to do the following:
- maintain a regular presence and actively participate in the forum and gallery, if not on a daily basis, then as close to it as possible.

- Complete at least THREE projects (layouts, cards, ATCs, OTPs) each month using the product packs provided by the sponsor for that month and based on a sketch and a technique/style
These MUST be uploaded by the first of each month.
Packs will contain approximately $15.00 worth of product from our sponsor.

- Help host and participate in, our monthly cybercrops by setting challenges, designing a sketch or hosting a game of bingo.

- Vote for the winners of our monthly challenges and cybercrop challenges.

- Contribute to the “Scrapping Question of the Day”, “Question of the Day”; Birthday/Anniversary Announcements areas of the forum.

- Contribute to The Lounge blog on a regular basis – sharing Lounge news, promoting sponsors/competitions/challenges, etc and uploading step-by-step projects, etc.

- Promote The Lounge through your blog and other social networking sites (Twitter, Facebook, etc)
